Abstract

In these changing times, there are several factors that affect the quality of life, cost of living being one of them, which in turn has brought about changes in welfare. With the
advent of the economic crisis of the 90s, has been affecting the quality of life of the Cuban, so research is required to endorse such a situation. The aim of this work is to
evaluate the cost of living and its impact on the welfare of the Cuban working people in the province of Santiago de Cuba, in order to propose alternatives for stabilization in the
period 2004-2011. The research methods applied are analysis-synthesis, inductivedeductive, historical - of course, the method of the general to the particular dialectical
documentary analysis and the theoretical and methodological research. The Techniques of collecting statistical information provided by the ONEI or other agencies.
