Abstract

The purpose of this research was to evaluate the productive efficiency indicators that determined the dynamics of local sugar production in the period 2007-2018. To achieve this objective, the behavior of the productive efficiency indicators was analyzed: Industrial Performance (IP); Average Harvests Days (HD); Unit Production Costs (PC); Ground Cane for sugar production (GC); and Lost Time (LT). Exposing the low efficiency levels of these indicators and an average annual decrease in sugar production of 5.3%. The relationship between PC, HD and IP indicators and sugar production was also quantified. Resulting the IP, the variable with the greatest impact on sugar production. The production volumes for the 2019 and 2020 harvests were projected, suggesting to direct production towards satisfying internal demand and enhancing production chains.
