Neoinstitutionalism and Intellectual Property, implications for underdeveloped countries

This paper aims to assess the scope of the theoretical and methodological foundations developed by Neoinstitutionalism in aggravating the economic, political and social problems of underdeveloped countries, especially in Latin America. This current of contemporary bourgeois thought has among its foundations the need for institutions to preserve property rights, and property rights include the intellectual. Using the materialistic dialectical method, we subject this current of economic thought to criticism. As a result of the analysis, the worsening of the economic, political and social situation in underdeveloped countries is highlighted. Differences that become a source of tension in international economic relations.
