Abstract

Some Cuban sugar factory are forced every year to grind cane entities away from their natural jurisdiction for take advantage of the standard potential use of milling and fulfill the plan of sugar´s production. This causes the industry get a significant volume of low-quality raw materials. The only way to counter this is to raise the overall quality indicators in set of subordinate entities of the sugar factory. The objective of this paper is to improve the planning of sugarcane harvest considering this issue. To that end a goal programming model was constructed to determine the best harvest´s structure by entities. This model was applied in the Managerial Unit of Base (MUB) sugar station “Paquito Rosales” from province Santiago de Cuba and made possible in the planning stages an improvement in economic and industrial indicators close to 5%.
