Employment and Self-Employment in the Santiago de Cuba province

The article aims to analyze the activity and role of Self-Employment (TCP) as a source of employment in the province of Santiago de Cuba. The method of analysis and synthesis and descriptive and inferential statistics are used to study the data. The current situation of local unemployment and the participation of employment sources and their dynamics in the province were analyzed and compared with the pattern that follows the country, establishing the most relevant differences. The study of the evolution of the TCP will identify the current activities that demonstrate a greater number of direct and affected jobs that, within this set, have endogenous capacity to multiply it, the evolution of the individual private worker, the training of micro and small companies via contracting of people.
