The objective of this paper is to conduct a bibliometric study on sustainability assessment tools for tourism destinations. The "Dimensions" search engine was used to compile metadata based on established search criteria, in addition to the VOSviewer bibliographic mapping software to prepare the output tables and graphs. As results, 117 articles on the studied topic were identified, showing that it is in a medium stage of development, giving great actuality and vitality to the topic. The most important publications are located in journals on the sector: Journal of Sustainable Tourism, Tourism Management and Tourism Management Perspectives. In addition, Life Cycle Analysis, the Sustainability Barometer and the Ecological Footprint were the most used conceptual models, while simple and composite indicators, Programming by Objectives (GP), amoeba diagrams, the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) were the most used tools.
