Abstract

This paper aims to analyze the factors affecting bean production in UBPC “Armando Mestre Martinez”, the municipality Contramaestre, Santiago de Cuba. In order to analyse experts were consulted, group techniques were used, weighted evaluations are conducted, the strategic problem and the general strategic solution with the use of SWOT matrix-IMPACT determined. The investigation showed that the proliferation of pests and diseases is the strongest threat, lack of demand and management control is the main weakness, the acquisition of certified seed available represents the most significant opportunity and the most significant strength is the favorable soil conditions for this crop; This requires carrying out a repositioning of bean production in the UBPCs, making investments to reverse the current situation, to increase yields and local production.
