Abstract

The analysis and strengthening of the productive chain is conducive to achieving the geographical organization of production associated with the tourism sector and improving its business practice. This research takes the Meliá Santiago Hotel as a case study and its purpose is to make a diagnosis of its conditions to integrate a future production chain, through the application of tools such as internal and external analysis, the Pareto method, the Product engineering, the Min-Max and ABC inventory methods, the Acquisition Cost / Turnover Index Matrix and the Financial Ratios; in addition to conducting interviews, direct observation and the use of expert judgment to analyze qualitative and quantitative factors that lead to the identification of hotel limitations and potential and thus assess the viability of the chain.
